WHO IS A RAINBOW KID: Patients seen at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN: The patient and their immediate family (Parents, grandparents, brothers & sisters) are invited
to participate in the event at no cost to the family. We are very sorry cousins, neighbors, and friends are not included. For every event, please call Kathy at 602-546-0157 to reserve your spot.
We would feel bad if you came to an event and we didn't have enough supplies or snacks. If you RSVP and find you cannot make it,
please call Kathy at 602-705-9643, even if it's the morning of the event.
WHERE: The events take place around the Phoenix area. Many of the places are repeated each year because our hosts have enjoyed
your company so much, they want you to come back. Please continue checking the website for the current information.
WHEN: An attempt is made to have one activity per month, except for June, July, & August. The dates vary each month due to the
availability of the location. Send me your e-mail address and I will send reminders when the activities get closer. Camp Rainbow
is held in August and this year the dates are August 3-8, 2008.
WHY: We have these events so that families can get together (outside the medical setting) and enjoy each others company.
You often become good friends through your long stays in the hospital and many clinic visits and this is one good way to keep in touch.
